Monestier's Biography

Alexandre Monestier was born in 1974 in Yvelines, France. A professional painter since 1994, Monestier has already had a remarkable career. Reared in a family of artists, it is only natural that he chose this profession. Taught in his father’s studio, he learned how to engrave and paint with both pastels and oils. A supreme colorist, Monestier loves to focus on still-lives because they allow him the greatest freedom in expressing his bold palette. His rich and energetic colors shine through in his floral bouquets, landscapes and seascapes. They enchant the viewer with their intense presence, their tenderness. Harnessing the brightest primary colors to create his art; each painting draws the viewer in and caresses one’s imagination. Monestier’s magnificent techniques, which he renders exclusively with a palette knife, have been featured in numerous public and private collections, as well as many fine art galleries throughout the world.
