George Guzzi, a 1956 graduate of Tufts University, also served on the faculty at the Art Institute of Boston from 1959 to 1964. As a favorite guest of the U.S. Air Force, George has traveled throughout Europe and the Americas, and today his work graces the official Air Force Art Collections in Washington, D.C. and Colorado Springs, Colorado. He has even documented five launches of the Space Shuttle for NASA, and painted astronaut training camps at Johnson Space Center. His bold palette knife work, intense colors and painterly romanticism have lent themselves to a variety of subjects, which include European fishing villages, New England coastal scenes, sporting events and aviation.
