T. Thomas Gilfilen's Biography
Contemporary artist Teri Gilfilen was classically trained in the tradition of American Impressionism. Considered a Naturalist, or painter of landscapes, she captures the unique and intriguing character of the world. Her acrylic and oil canvases are painterly and expressive, sometimes using a loose handling of stitch stroke to create a linear rhythm - or a blended suffusion of color for the tonality effect.
She has the ability to grasp a minute piece of nature with the broadest sense of being there. Her paintings are in many public and private collections throughout the U.S., Nova Scotia and Belgium. The recipient of many regional, national and international awards, she has signature membership with the Ohio Watercolor Society, the National Acrylic Painters Association, and the American Artist's Professional League.
