Robert Refvem's Biography
Robert Refvem's work has graced the collections of the rich and famous. His fluid forms and abstract designs have been compared to the great 17th and 18th century masters Bernini and Canova. His wildlife sculptures have received accolades from The National Sculpture Society, The Allied Artists of America, The Society of Animal Artists, The American Artists Professional League, and The National Wildlife Art Show.
Refvem was born on Christmas Day, 1933, in Frankfort, South Dakota. He was raised in Washington State, moved to Wyoming in 1973 and then to Loveland, Colorado in 1990. Although he had always wanted to be an artist, it wasn't until 1982 that he began to put his natural talent into sculpture. He lived and worked in Santa Fe, New Mexico until he passed away in 1999. Robert Refvem's celebrated bronzes capture the grace, inner life, and gentle movement of birds, wildlife and diverse subjects chosen for their artistic forms and universal appeal. Today his work continues to grace many public and private collections throughout the United States.
